The last Lenten Fish Fry will be Friday, April 8th. Thank you to our local Knights of Columbus Council #1164 for providing meals, and a time for us to gather! Next Friday, April 15th will be Good Friday, and a day of fasting and abstinence. Those ages 18 to 59 are permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. Abstinence from meat should also be observed by those age 14 and older. Exemption is allowed for pregnant women and other medical reasons. Those exempted from fasting may substitute other sacrifices to which their generosity, spirit of penance and love for God spur them to do.
SS Peter & Paul will have Stations of the Cross each Friday of Lent at 5:00 pm. Please join us in devotion to Jesus's last day on earth, as we commemorate His passion and death on the cross. After Stations, the Knights of Columbus will have fish and macaroni and cheese dinners available for purchase. St. Mary's will have Stations of the Cross at 7:00 pm on March 11th, March 25th, and April 8th. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
As we enter this Lenten season, we invite you to join us for the distribution of ashes, stations of the cross, communal penance and other offerings. We hope everyone has a reflective Lenten season while we practice prayer, fasting, and alms giving in preparation for Easter. If you did not receive the attached mailing, contact the office to ensure we have your current address.

Our Bishop, William Joensen, has asked parishioners to participate in a survey enabling the Diocese of Des Moines to review the aspirations for our faith and our churches as they plan the Strategic Vision. Surveys are available via the link below, as well as a hard copy in The Catholic Mirror. Parishioners may have also received a copy of this link via email from the Diocese. We encourage not just each parish household, but each adult member of your home to participate in the survey and share their vision.
